Wellingborough Carnival Queen and Princesses to open revamped cafe.

One of Wellingborough’s most historic buildings is having a revamp and re-launch.  On Tuesday 20th August 2013, at midday, Ollies Bistro will reopen as Oliver’s Cafe. The property has been beside the Hind Hotel since 1902.
Commenting on the re-launch, Debbie Reilly, Food and Beverage Manager at The Hind Hotel, said,

“We have combined the traditional ambiance of the room, with its high ceilings and leaded light windows, with a new warm contemporary colour scheme coupled with clever touches to create something really special.”

Over the years the historical unit has been named after Oliver Cromwell under various guises, including Oliver’s Cocktail Bar and Lounge. Oliver Cromwell is reputed to have stayed at The Hind Hotel in the 1640’s.
